Building a Practice That Lasts: Balancing the Work You Love with the Life You Want

Jen Wright, NBC-HWC

You became a coach to help people. You want your work to matter. And you also need your business to support your life.

Many coaches feel stuck between two fears:

“If I charge what I need, I won’t be serving.”

“If I keep giving this much, I won’t last.”

This opening keynote sets the tone for the whole conference: we can build coaching practices that are both profitable and meaningful. We’ll name what’s making this hard, tell the truth about the burnout loop so many coaches get trapped in, and share a simple framework for designing impact on purpose—through pricing choices, pro bono work, volunteering, mission-based offers, partnerships, and more.

You’ll leave with a steady message to carry through the conference: Your values matter. Your needs matter. Your impact lasts longer when your practice can last.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Name the “burnout loop” that happens when a practice is underpriced and overextended.

  • Explain why sustainability is part of ethical, long-term impact.

  • Choose 1–2 ways to create impact that fit their real capacity right now.

  • Identify one clear next step to strengthen both profit and purpose in their practice.

Wearing More Than One Hat: Integrating Multiple Modalities While Staying in Coaching Scope

Emma Vasseur, MA, NBC-HWC

Many health and wellness coaches bring more than one credential to the table. You may be a coach and a yoga teacher, a coach and a therapist, or a coach with training in bodywork, nutrition, or other modalities.

While these skills can deeply support clients, they can also create confusion—about scope, roles, session flow, and even how to describe your work.

In this 60-minute NBHWC-aligned class, you’ll learn how to integrate multiple modalities ethically and confidently while keeping coaching at the center. We’ll explore clear role definition, client agreements, and practical ways to use other skills in service of coaching—without crossing scope or watering down your work.

You’ll leave with greater clarity, stronger language, and renewed confidence in offering integrated services that reflect your full expertise.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Describe the difference between coaching and other professional roles they hold

  • Integrate tools and techniques from other modalities while staying in coaching scope

  • Use clear language and agreements to reduce client confusion

  • Design an integrated service or signature offer that centers coaching

Using Wellness Workshops to Grow a Profitable Health Coaching Business

Lori Kampa, NBC-HWC

Many health coaches love the idea of offering wellness workshops but feel unsure about whether they fit within scope of practice or how to talk about them clearly.

In this 60-minute class, you’ll learn how wellness workshops can ethically support your coaching business without crossing boundaries or feeling uncomfortable. We’ll break down the difference between education and coaching, explore why workshops build trust, and practice simple language you can use right away.

You’ll leave with more confidence, clearer messaging, and a better understanding of how workshops can support visibility and connection while staying fully aligned with NBHWC standards.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Explain how wellness workshops build interest and a warm audience

  • Describe a simple workshop-to-coaching referral flow

  • Identify one practical way to add workshops into their current business

  • Use ethical language to invite participants into coaching services

Client Attraction 101: Using Clear Messaging to Attract the Right Clients

Rebecca Ellison

You’re certified. You care deeply about your work. And yet, attracting clients still feels hard.

If you’ve found yourself explaining what you do over and over — or hearing “that sounds great” without follow-through — you’re not alone. For many health and wellness coaches, client attraction isn’t a marketing problem. It’s a clarity problem.

Client Attraction 101 helps you understand why attracting clients can feel like an uphill battle in a still-growing field — and how clear, ethical communication makes it easier.

In this 60-minute class, you’ll explore how branding goes beyond logos and colors and instead reflects how people understand who you are, who you help, and how you help. You’ll learn why confusion often happens before a client ever books a call, and how clarity builds trust, alignment, and confidence on both sides.

This class is educational and reflective — not sales-driven. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how your messaging shapes client interest and how clear brand messaging supports a sustainable coaching practice.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Explain how brand clarity supports ethical client attraction

  • Identify where unclear communication may be blocking client interest

  • Describe their coaching role in a way that supports trust and understanding

You Have a Story to Share: How Coaches Can Speak to Inspire Change & Build a Successful Practice

Aurora Gregory

Speaking on stages, summits, and podcasts can be a powerful way for health and wellness coaches to build visibility and credibility—but pitching yourself can feel confusing or uncomfortable.

You may wonder what event hosts are really looking for, how to choose the right topic, or how to share your work without feeling pushy or performative.

In this 60-minute class, you’ll learn how event planners and hosts decide who gets chosen to speak, what audiences expect from an educational session, and how to create a clear, audience-centered topic that feels aligned with your values.

You’ll be guided through a simple framework that helps you describe your expertise clearly, write strong learning outcomes, and position yourself as a supportive partner to the host and their audience.

This session includes guided reflection, small group discussion, and practical tools you can use again and again. You’ll also receive a Speaker One-Sheet creation guide to support your outreach after the class.

By the end of the session, you’ll feel more confident, more prepared, and clearer about how to share your message publicly—without pressure or hype.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Describe a clear, stage-ready topic that meets a real audience need

  • Write simple learning outcomes that explain the value of their talk

  • Communicate their coaching expertise without sounding salesy or vague

  • Feel more confident pitching themselves for speaking opportunities

Self-Care Redefined: A Mind-Body Approach to Coaching Sustainability

Kathy Yavari, NBC-HWC

As a health and wellness coach, you give a lot—your time, your care, your attention. Over time, that giving can quietly turn into emotional fatigue, blurred boundaries, and feeling less present with clients.

You may find yourself thinking about clients long after sessions end, saying yes when you are already stretched thin, or noticing that you feel less patient and curious than you used to. This does not mean you are doing something wrong. It means your self-care needs a new definition.

In this 60-minute class, Self-Care Redefined, you will explore how emotional load builds, why boundaries feel hard, and how the mind-body connection plays a key role in sustainable coaching.

You will learn practical, coach-centered strategies to:

• Separate client needs from your own

• Protect your energy without guilt

• Restore presence and clarity in sessions

• Reconnect with your purpose and “why”

This class is reflective, practical, and supportive—designed to help you care for yourself with the same intention you bring to your clients.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Notice when they are carrying client needs beyond sessions

  • Identify beliefs that lead to overgiving and emotional fatigue

  • Use simple mind-body tools to reset and protect their energy

  • Create a personal self-care approach that supports presence, purpose, and sustainability

Mentorship as a Professional Practice

Emma Vasseur, MA, NBC-HWC & Megan Hadley, MA, NBC-HWC

After certification, many coaches quietly ask themselves:
“Am I doing enough?”
“Why does this still feel hard?”
“Is everyone else just figuring it out on their own?”

You’re not alone—and you’re not doing anything wrong.

Many coaches invest in required CE but overlook mentorship, not because they don’t value growth, but because mentorship isn’t clearly modeled, tracked, or talked about in our field. Over time, this can lead to isolation, self-doubt, and stalled confidence.

In this 60-minute class, we’ll talk openly about the role of mentorship in coaching practice and why seeking support is not a weakness—it’s a professional skill.

You’ll learn:

• Why many coaches avoid mentorship (and why that makes sense)

• How mentorship supports confidence, skill development, and sustainability
• What kinds of mentorship exist and how to think about fit
• How to take a next step without pressure or comparison

This is a thoughtful, supportive conversation designed to help you feel less alone and more grounded in your growth as a coach.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Explain why mentorship is a normal part of professional coaching practice

  • Identify common beliefs that keep coaches from seeking support

  • Describe how mentorship supports confidence, skills, and sustainability

  • Choose one intentional next step toward mentorship or supported growth

Becoming Referable: Alignment, Systems, and Confidence in Referral Relationships

Kaylea Philobos, NBC-HWC

Referral relationships can feel overwhelming—especially when healthcare systems feel intimidating or dismissive of coaching. You may know collaboration matters, but still feel unsure what to say, who to approach, or how to hold confidence in professional spaces.

This 60-minute retreat session helps health and wellness coaches become more referable by focusing on alignment, confidence, and ethical clarity. Instead of chasing outcomes or approval, you’ll learn how to communicate your role clearly, identify aligned partners, and take practical steps toward collaboration.

Through reflection, discussion, and real-world examples, you’ll leave feeling more grounded in the value you bring and more confident taking your next step toward referral relationships that support both you and your clients.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Develop a clear explanation of their coaching role

  • Identify at least two types of aligned referral partners

  • Recognize signs of aligned and misaligned referral relationships

  • Take one confident next step toward building a referral relationship

Building an Integrative Care Network as a Health & Wellness Coach

Megan Hadley, MA, NBC-HWC

As a health and wellness coach, you want to support your clients in meaningful, whole-person ways. But what happens when a client asks about an integrative or complementary approach you’re not trained in?

You may worry about crossing scope, giving the wrong impression, or saying too much—or not enough. Over time, this can leave you feeling limited, unsure, or disconnected from the bigger picture of client care.

In this 60-minute class, you’ll be introduced to integrative care through an ethical, coach-centered lens. You’ll learn how to talk about integrative approaches without recommending or prescribing, and how to begin building an integrative care network you can trust.

• Learn what integrative care is—and what it is not—for health and wellness coaches

• Explore ethical language for discussing integrative modalities with clients
• Begin creating your own integrative care network using a simple, fill-in template

The 90-Day Growth Blueprint for Coaching Businesses

Jen Wright, NBC-HWC

Are you ready to grow your coaching practice, but feel like you’re stuck in the “freebie loop”?

You download the templates. You go to the free trainings. You listen to the podcasts.

And somehow, you still don’t feel clear about what to do next.

This happens because most free resources give you pieces of a plan, not a full path. So you try to fill in the gaps, mix strategies, and keep changing direction. It drains your energy, shakes your confidence, and makes it hard to stay consistent.

In this summit session, you’ll learn a calm, sustainable approach to business growth using a simple 90-day sprint. You’ll leave with:

• A 1-page Sprint Map (your focus, goals, and the right actions)

• A weekly planning rhythm that supports consistency without burnout

• Clear guardrails that protect your wellbeing while you grow

If you want support to follow through after the summit, you’ll also hear how the Wellness Coach Business Network helps coaches stay consistent through monthly planning calls and coworking/accountability.

By the end of this class, coaches will be able to:

  • Describe how 90-day sprints help build consistency and clarity in their business

  • Create a 90-day plan rooted in realistic goals and energy-sustaining practices

  • Use tools and strategies that align with their unique vision, values, and pace

  • Feel more confident about their business direction and decision-making
